IKTIYAR means "the power of choice". It is about challenging the status quo, and about channeling my perspectives as a self-taught designer, a lawyer, and a British Punjabi Londoner. To create thoughtful collections, for curated wardrobes, focused on empowering the women by whom, and for whom, they are made.  To wear rich textures, in deep colours, for all occasions or for no occasion. To appreciate the strength of minimalist design. For less to actually be more. And to not be all things to all people.

Creating this label is about championing a slower fashion. Taking time to produce small, seasonless collections, that are handmade. Building and celebrating all-female teams of craftswomen. Creating opportunities for social and economic empowerment through safe and meaningful training and employment. And working hard to create beautiful, ethical, fashion with individual pieces I hope you will love.
